I didn't come to Prague expecting to teach preschool. I wanted to teach kids, sure, but I didn't want to go as young as three or four. And I certainly never expected to be doing it with no Czech speaking co-teacher. But here I am, almost five months later, and I haven't pulled my hair out (yet)! There are some days where I absolutely love the environment, but other days when I really question my sanity. There are definitely aspects that I love and hate about teaching general ESL preschool.
The air has been getting warmer, flowers are starting to sprout, leaves are slowly starting to appear on trees. The signs all point to the approaching spring and the return of the farmers markets is just another tell-tale sign winter is almost behind us.
Is it possible? Am I shedding my preppy New England persona and edging more and more towards hipster? I mean my food choices have definitely always aired on that side, but has Prague been bringing out the rest of my previously hidden hipster persona?
Though I'm close to the Alps, I currently don't have the time to travel there. At first I thought about doing a weekend visit to a mountain resort in the Czech Republic, but then I discovered there are a plethora of Ski Buses from Prague that organize transport and provide a lift pass in the ticket price!
